Low cost digital audiometry

Hearing loss is one of the most prevalent disabling conditions that affects approximately 10% of the world’s
population. One of the main causes of hearing loss is exposure to loud noises which leads to sensorineural
hearing impairment that has an insidious onset and irreversible. Early detection of hearing loss in such
condition is, therefore, crucial. This study will compare the validity of a low-cost and portable computer based
audiometer designed using LabVIEW for hearing loss screening.
